HISTORY

Halster was born into the rich life, his family being merchants for generations, but since he was the youngest of two sons and thus not the heir to the business, Halster spent most of his childhood making Floran into his playground and the kids around him his friends.

His bright and carefree nature attracted people to him, and he never had any trouble actually making friends, always knowing what to do when in a pinch, joking his way out of otherwise awkward situations, for himself as well as for whoever he was trying to help at the time. Halster always wanted to help, did he see someone in trouble or in need of it, and that was how he met Mianne, the grandaughter of a local grocery store owner, when they were younger, helping her with a crate of carrots that looked entirely too heavy for her.

Since then, he has always managed to stop by the grocery store at least once a day, with a grin on his face and subtle, as well as not entirely subtle, flirting towards the girl. Her grandfather, however, is not entirely fond of the boy, as he is prone to bouts of mischief at times (always to help someone else, really, although the old man most likely does not see it that way), and seems to think Halster only gets away with it for being the son of a rich merchant.

Remarkably of him, he doesn't find her grandfather's distaste of him discouraging, rather a challenge, and runs errands on a whim, even if they're not always executed perfectly.

Being trained in swords since he was a little boy, Halster didn't mind attending whatever classes his parents wanted him to take, and would do anything they wanted him to do (as long as they made it very clear it was important he did this), but he was always more fun-loving that ambitious. So no matter how much his parents wants him to join King Claudius' service, Halster laughs off any attempt that's made to approach the subject, as he's not too keen on the idea of being in a mocked military, far more interested in spending time at the grocery store, hanging around Mianne.

He'll help with the merchant business if asked, and although his brother holds a lot more talent for the trade, Halster isn't entirely unskilled in the art of persuation and haggling, and has pulled in some business his parents hadn't been expecting, resulting in their want for him to do more, yet this is ridiculously unappealing to the boy.

He'd rather stop and smell the flowers.

And now he and Mianne have a thing going but she's still holding back whoo.

PERSONALITY

Cheerful and forthcoming to the point where it might drive some people's slightly insane, Halster fully believes a genuine, bright smile will get you anywhere, and a helping hand a little bit further. He's not prone to get hurt by snide remarks, as being negative or sad really doesn't appeal to him and he figures that if he does let himself be hurt by every negative thought, he would end up depressed indeed.

While it takes some effort for him to get upset, a vicious attack on someone dear to him will do it, and fast. Halster is protective of those he cares about, and will always extend a hand to those who need it, though he thinks a person is stronger for making their own decisions, and thus never tries to force a person's opinion in one direction, even if the other is unfavourable to him.

Flirtatious, he has compliments for just about anyone, and though he means everything he says, he's only seriously interested in pleasing one person in his favour; Mianne.

Even if he's not particular quick-witted, Halster doesn't let that get him down (it'd just be thing to worry about; something he can't change anyway!) and devotes most of his time to what he does know. While he loves to laze around, maybe just lie around in meadows outside of Floran and stare at the sky for an indefinite period of time, he's not adverse to doing physical labour either, and actually working.

APPEARANCE

5 feet, 10 inches, Halster stands taller than his older brother, and is of a fair complexion and is lanky, but with vaguely defined muscles from running so much around Floran.

Dark hair cut roughly around his neck ever since he had an unfortunate incident with a pair of scissors when he was fifteen, Halster has kept it that way as a mockery to his mother after she berated him for playing with sharp things, plus he thinks it adds to his charm not to be completely polished.
